On July 30, 2021, Halcom Vietnam JSC. donated 20,000 rapid test kits with the value of nearly 2 billion VND to Bau Bang district, Binh Duong province for the sake of prevention and control of Covid-19.
Recently, Binh Duong has been one of the “hot spots” of the Covid-19 pandemic with the number of cases increasing rapidly due to uncontrolled transmission from Ho Chi Minh City and cross infection in quarantined areas, blockade areas, from hostels to companies and vice versa. Bau Bang district with 7 communes and towns, also recorded a rapidly increasing number of positive cases. The organization of sampling for a large-scale Covid-19 screening test here has been implemented to detect, trace, identify and quarantine all existing F0 cases in the community.
While the pandemic in Bau Bang district in particular and Binh Duong province in general escalated quickly, 20,000 quick test kits were urgently transported by Halcom Vietnam JSC. to Bau Bang district to promptly “refuel” for functional forces to enhance the effectiveness of Covid-19 screening, tracing and rapid testing.
The Vtrust Covid-19 Antigen Rapid Test product sponsored by Halcom Vietnam JSC. is an immunochromatographic assay kit for the qualitative detection of nucleocapsid protein antigens from SARS-CoV-2 in human nasopharyngeal fluid samples, which is used to detect SARS-CoV-2 virus. Products are manufactured by TaiDoc (Taiwan) that meet European quality standards and are granted a product circulation license in Europe and licensed by the Ministry of Health for use in Vietnam. They have high sensitivity and specificity (Sensitivity 93.1% – Specificity 99.6%) and can generate test results in just 15 minutes.
