Tokyo, Japan, October 17th, 2019 – Halcom Vietnam JSC signed a Share Purchase Agreement (SPA) with Shizen Energy Inc., officially announcing Shizen Energy as a stakeholder and technical partner, indicating the start to a newly form international partnership in development of multiple renewable energy projects in Vietnam.
The projects currently planned under the partnership include the Phương Mai 3 Wind Farm, which is operated by project company Central Wind Power JSC (CWP) in Nhơn Hội economic zone, Bình Định province. The Wind Farm is designed of 6 Siemens Gamesa turbines, with capacity of 3.5 MW each; the total nominated capacity is 21 MW generating power at 77.945 million kWh/year.
In addition to the position as a stakeholder in the on-going plant development projects, Shizen Energy also pledges to provide Technical Asset Management services and industry know-how surrounding renewable energy plants. As Halcom has extensive connections on the ground in Vietnam, it complements well with the technological know-how of Shizen Energy who seek to grow internationally leveraging its extensive domestic experience in both solar and wind power.
This investment is Shizen Energy’s first project in Vietnam, as well as its first wind power project outside of Japan to begin construction. At 21MW capacity, it will also be its largest wind project overall owned by Shizen Energy. The construction works began in April and are expected to commence its operation by late 2019.
Through this cooperation, both parties aim to establish an extended relationship that could have a meaningful impact on the renewable energy market in Vietnam, a promising market with great potential for renewable energy.
