Halcom Vietnam is officially allowed to conduct wind power investment survey in Quang Binh

On September 26th, 2019, the document No. 3525/VPUBND-KT was officially announced by Quang Binh People’s Committee on the research and survey of an 100MW capacity offshore wind plant construction plan at coastline wards in Le Thuy district. According to this, the local People’s Committee allows Halcom Vietnam to install a wind gauge pillar on land of Ngu Thuy Trung ward, Le Thuy district. The pillar will be installed on an estimated land area of 400m2 in 12 months in order to conduct research and survey for the plant.
During the research and survey period of the project, as requested by the People’s Committee, Halcom Vietnam will co-operate closely with the related local departments and offices to ensure the standard procedures on investment, construction, land, environment protection and other regulations. The company will get opinions from related authorized departments to make sure that the defense – security, environment, territorial border are not affected, and fishermen are giving good conditions on land at the coastline and offshore areas. Halcom Vietnam will be guided and created favorable conditions by Quang Binh Industrial and Commercial and other related local departments and offices on installing the wind gauge pillar, conducting field research, preparing additional documents on electricity plan; relating investment procedures…

Quang Binh province has big potential of wind energy with the total industrial scale capacity of over 1052 MW at coastline districts such as Quang Ninh, Le Thuy (according to the report on Wind & Solar Energy Development Plan by 2025, taking account into 2035). This development plan aims to make the province become one of the clean energy centers nationwide through promoting electricity power generated from renewable energy including wind. This will be the second province that Halcom Vietnam plans to invest on wind energy. The first wind farm of Halcom – Phuong Mai 3 with the capacity of 21MW, equivalent to the total investment of 1,000 billion dongs in Binh Dinh province is on process and expected to integrate the national grid by late 2019.
