Hau Giang solar power project is committed to complete construction on-time

Hau Giang, 6 May, 2020 – Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan, Vice President of Hau Giang People’s Committee, held a meeting with related departments and representatives of VKT – Hoa An JSC. (a member of Halcom Vietnam JSC.) – investor of Hau Giang solar power plant project in Hoa An commune, Phung Hiep district.

Hau Giang solar power investment by VKT – Hoa An Solar Power JSC. in an area of ​​about 33 ha was granted by Hau Giang People’s Committee in 2016. The 110kV line with a length of 6.83 km, connecting 22/110kV substation of Hau Giang solar power to Vi Thanh – Long My 110kV line, passes through the two localities of Hoa An commune, Phung Hiep district and Vinh Tuong ward, Long My town.

According to the report of Hau Giang Land Fund Development Center, 83  households are affected by the project, 78 of which were paid the compensation, and around 90% of the project area was handed over to the investor. VKT – Hoa An is currently having the project ground filled, and working with contractors to speed up the construction progress, committing to complete and put the plant into operation in December 2020. VKT – Hoa An expects continuous support from the local departments on site clearance completion to fully take over the entire project area, and a land use plan as well for the above mentioned 110kV line.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan agreed with the construction progress committed by the investor, and proposed Phung Hiep People’s Committee to approve the compensation and site clearance plan for the remaining area, as well as arrange resettlement for affected households according to regulations. Hau Giang Land Fund Development Center continues closely monitoring to ensure the handover of the entire project area by 25 May, 2020. Hau Giang Department of Natural resources and Environment verifies the dossier, signs land lease contract in accordance with regulations, submits documents to the Ministry of Natural resources and Environment (MONRE) for guidance on the location adjustment plan affected by the connecting 110kV line. The project investor needs to highly determine on the committed construction progress and transfer the remaining funds to the provincial Land Fund Development Center in order to complete payment to the local people in May.

Hau Giang Solar Power Plant – the 2nd renewable energy project of Halcom Vietnam, after Phuong Mai 3 Wind Power Plant (located in Nhon Hoi Economic Zone, Binh Dinh Province), is the company’s next step in creating the clean energy for sustainable development. Phuong Mai 3 plant officially integrated into the national electrical grid in January 2020, after 2 years of construction as committed to Binh Dinh authority.
