Emphasizing the Party’s consistent viewpoint on environmental protection, Mr. Nguyễn Quang Huân stated that the environment is a core factor in sustainable development. This is also the long-term perspective pursued by the Party in the context of a new era of national advancement, towards a sustainable future.

This perspective has been specifically reflected through orientations, solutions, and targets outlined in numerous important documents, such as Resolution No. 24-NQ/TW in 2013 on proactively responding to climate change, strengthening resource management, and environmental protection; the 13th National Party Congress Resolution (2021); the Law on Environmental Protection (2020); the National Climate Change Strategy for the 2021–2030 period; and Vietnam’s international commitment at COP26 (2021) to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.

National Assembly Deputy Nguyễn Quang Huân provided a comprehensive overview of the current environmental pollution situation in Vietnam, as well as its causes and existing challenges. These include severe air and water pollution, traffic congestion and noise pollution, as well as shortcomings in waste management. These issues have also been discussed in depth by Mr. Nguyễn Quang Huân through various media outlets, attracting significant public attention.

Based on the current situation, Mr. Nguyễn Quang Huân’s presentation focused on analyzing solutions to address environmental challenges. According to him, alongside efforts to tackle immediate environmental pollution issues, Vietnam needs to adopt a broader and long-term approach by promoting the development of a green economy and circular economy, updating environmental policies and governance frameworks, as well as strengthening education and international cooperation in environmental protection.

“To achieve sustainable development associated with a green economy and circular economy, Vietnam needs to establish a clear roadmap and use economic, social, and environmental indicators as tools to assess progress. Implementation requires close coordination among the Government, businesses, and the community,” National Assembly Deputy Nguyễn Quang Huân emphasized.

The sharing session provided valuable information and insights for members of the Thăng Long Club

Concluding his presentation, Mr. Nguyễn Quang Huân conveyed a message calling for collective efforts in environmental protection, emphasizing the need to: accelerate the energy transition to reduce emissions; preserve the natural values inherited from previous generations so they can be proudly passed on to future generations; and develop a green economy and circular economy to enter a new era – the era of national advancement.

The sharing session by Mr. Nguyễn Quang Huân received great attention from many members of the Thăng Long Club, thanks to the timely, updated, and expanded information on environmental issues that he skillfully integrated into his presentation.
