On October 28, 2020 in Hanoi, under the direction of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VNFF), the forum “Resolution 55-NQ/TW and renewable energy development solutions in Vietnam” was organized by Enternews magazine in co-ordination with the Advisory council of Science, Education and Environment (VNFF). At the forum, the voting results of typical renewable energy projects in Vietnam in 2020 was officially announced, including Phuong Mai 3 Wind Power Plant (Quy Nhon, Binh Dinh).
These typical renewable energy projects in Vietnam in 2020 have been evaluated and assessed by the Advisory council of Science, Education and Environment (VNFF) and leading experts in economics, renewable energy, and environment to ensure that strict selective criteria are met. The key criteria are stable and effective operation, good contribution in preserving and protecting the environment, creating jobs and positively revenue contribution to the localities.
Phuong Mai 3 is the 1st renewable energy project of Halcom Vietnam with professional investment, consulted and constructed by international leading contractors. The plant was financed by Bank of Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) – Cau Giay. This is also proudly the 2nd renewable energy project in Vietnam that was financed by export credit (financed by Landesbank Baden-Württemberg – the 4th biggest bank in Germany), enhancing the project financial effectiveness and international co-operation. With the total capacity of 21 MW, total investment fund of 43 million USD, Phuong Mai 3 wind power plant supplies over 70 million kwh to the national electrical grid per year, reduces the emission of 50,000 tons of CO2 per year, and achieves the estimated annual revenue of 140 billion dongs. This is the first wind farm operation in Binh Dinh province.
