Resolution No. 68: Expectations for the Private Sector to Become the Most Important Driving Force of the Economy

Businesses are highly optimistic that, if Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW is effectively implemented, the private sector will become the most important driving force of the economy.

These were the remarks shared by Mr. Nguyễn Quang Huân – National Assembly Deputy and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Halcom Vietnam – in Lao Động Thủ đô newspaper on May 13, regarding Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW and the role of the private sector in the economy.

According to Mr. Nguyễn Quang Huân, the business community has high expectations for Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW issued by the Politburo. This is the first resolution dedicated specifically to the development of the private sector, issued at a time when the country is accelerating the restructuring of the state apparatus and legal system.

Mr. Huân emphasized that Resolution No. 68 was issued at the right time, demonstrating the Party’s understanding of and commitment to developing the private sector into an important driving force of the national economy. For the private sector to thrive, appropriate policies and mechanisms are needed to create favorable conditions for businesses to invest with confidence and expand their production and business activities.

One of the key highlights of the Resolution is the principle of “not criminalizing civil and economic relations,” which is regarded as a major step forward in legal thinking and contributes to creating a secure legal environment for businesses to operate. This not only helps businesses avoid unnecessary risks but also encourages innovation, long-term investment, and sustainable development.

In addition, Resolution No. 68 is part of the broader “four-pillar strategic framework,” together with Resolutions No. 57, 59, and 66, creating a solid legal framework to advance economic reform and development. The synchronized implementation of these resolutions is expected to deliver tangible benefits to businesses and the economy as a whole.
