Vietnam Association for Clean Water and Environment Supports the COVID-19 Vaccine Fund

On June 8, the Vietnam Association for Clean Water and Environment donated VND 71 million to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in support of the COVID-19 Vaccine Fund.

Attending the handover ceremony to support the COVID-19 Vaccine Fund was Mr. Nguyen Huu Dung, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

Representing the Central Vietnam Association for Clean Water and Environment were Mr. Nguyen Linh Ngoc, former Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment and Chairman of the Vietnam Association for Clean Water and Environment; Ms. Pham Thi Xuan, Vice Chairwoman of the Association; Mr. Nguyen Quang Huan, Vice Chairman of the Association and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Halcom Vietnam; Mr. Nguyen Van Toan, Vice Chairman of the Association and Editor-in-Chief of Environment and Life Magazine; and Ms. Truong Thi Hien, Deputy Chief of the Association’s Office.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Linh Ngoc, Chairman of the Vietnam Association for Clean Water and Environment, said that following the appeal by President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and the heartfelt remarks by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the launch ceremony of the COVID-19 Vaccine Fund, the Association’s Standing Committee mobilized its staff and individual and organizational members to contribute to the Fund. The initiative aimed to provide additional resources for the COVID-19 Vaccine Fund and support frontline forces in the fight against the pandemic. In the spirit of joining hands with the Party, State, and Government to combat COVID-19, the Association’s staff and members actively participated in the fundraising campaign. To date, the Association has raised VND 71 million (seventy-one million Vietnamese dong) to support the COVID-19 Vaccine Fund. The Association expressed its hope that this contribution, though modest, would help the Party, State, and Government procure COVID-19 vaccines for the people.

Recognizing the contribution made by the Vietnam Association for Clean Water and Environment, Mr. Nguyen Huu Dung, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, expressed his sincere and profound appreciation to the Association’s leadership for mobilizing benefactors, organizational members, and individual members to support COVID-19 prevention and control efforts.

“The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee is committed to using all resources received in a public, transparent, lawful, and purpose-driven manner. The funds received will be allocated to the Vaccine Fund, while the remaining resources will be used to support frontline forces and people facing difficulties due to the pandemic,” Vice Chairman Nguyen Huu Dung affirmed.

Vice Chairman Nguyen Huu Dung also wished the Vietnam Association for Clean Water and Environment continued growth and greater contributions to the country’s development.

Previously, in response to the appeal from the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, the Vietnam Association for Clean Water and Environment donated a total of VND 8.5 million to the COVID-19 Prevention and Control Fund.
