It was told that in Tây Sơn – Bình Định, 230 years ago in the Spring of Mậu Thân 1789, Emperor Quang Trung asked the soldiers to celebrate premature Tet and then marched quickly to the north to liberate Thăng Long, making the victory in Ngọc Hồi – Đống Đa, defeated 290,000 Qing soldiers, marking a historic milestone in the anti-invasion history of our nation.
And now in 2019, on the same land of Quy Nhơn – Bình Định, the Central Wind Power Joint Stock Company (CWP) – a member of HALCOM Việt Nam JSC, the investor of the Wind Farm Project, is following the spirit of speediness the ancestors by fulfilling important work items of the Phương Mai 3 Wind Farm within 6 months only.
In September 2018, CWP signed the contract for “Supply, Transportation and Installation of Wind Turbines, Operation and Maintenance Services” under the Phương Mai 3 Wind Farm Project with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (Siemens Gamesa), the biggest supplier of wind power and renewable energy equipment and technology in the world.
In October 2018, the contract for 110kV Substation and Cables (E-BOP) with Hanoi Telecommunication and Power Company (Hatec) was signed. The survey, design and construction of the 110kV substation and cables will be completed by Hatec within 28 weeks from the effective date of the contract.
In January 2019, the Power Purchase Agreement was signed with EVN (EPTC) enjoying the new Feed-in-tariff of 8.5 cent/kWh (which was 7.8 cent/kWh before).
On 18 February 2019, Halcom & CWP signed the credit agreement for the Phương Mai 3 Wind Farm with the Bank for Development and Investment of Việt Nam – BIDV, Cầu Giấy branch, Total value is up to 996 billion VND of which: the equity fund is 30%, and the remaining fund come from domestic loan ( BIDV ) and foreign loan ( LBBW – Germany).
Each signed contract is an important milestone contributing to the success of the Project. After the commercial operation date (expected to be in September 2019), Phương Mai 3 Wind Farm will provide over 70 million of kWh/year to the grid, supplementing the supply of power for national consumption, creating more jobs for local young people as well as contributing to the production and tourism activities of the enterprises working in the area of Nhơn Hội economic zone, Bình Định province; contributing to reduction of emission, protecting the surrounding environment and landscape, ensuring energy security, contributing to sustainable development of Bình Định province in particular and Việt Nam in general.
The contract was signed by Mr. Nguyễn Cao Minh – Deputy Director of BIDV Cầu Giấy branch and Mr. Nguyễn Đức Quyết – General Director of CWP with the witness of senior leaders of both sides.
