Horasis Asia Meeting 2022: ESG – Sustainable Development

On November 20-21, 2022, Horasis Asia Meeting took place in Kitakyushu, Japan. The event was co-hosted by Horasis – a global visions community, the City of Kitakyushu and Kitakyushu Asian Center for Low Carbon Society, gathering more than 300 senior leaders from investors, experts, and government officials in the region and around the world. Following the serial success of the annual energy transition summits and exhibitions in Asia, Future Energy Asia 2022, endorsed by Thailand’s Ministry of Energy, took place in Bangkok (Thailand) on July 20-22, 2022. Mr. Nguyen Quang Huan, Chairman of Board of Directors of Halcom Vietnam JSC, also shared his perspective on “PDP8 draft and the future of Vietnam’s energy sector” in July 20 spotlight panel.

Economic forum: Solution for shortage and surplus of clean water

According to the Population and Housing Census Report of the General Statistics Office in 2019, the percentage of households accessing tap water accounted for only about 52%. In particular, the proportion of households in urban areas that had access to tap water reached 84.2%, while in rural areas it was only 34.8%. The ratio of access between urban and rural areas shows a huge disparity nationwide.
