At 9:00AM on December 12, 2020, the Vi Thanh – Long My 110 kV line was officially connected to the electricity system of Hau Giang Solar Power Plant, ready to be integrated into the national electrical grid. Being located in Hoa An commune, Phung Hiep dist., Hau Giang province, and invested by VKT-Hoa An Solar Power Jsc. (a member company of Halcom Vietnam), the plant has the capacity of 35MWp. With key construction items having been completed, the plant is expected to achieve COD in Dec, 2020.
The project implementation started in June 2020. Up to now, after 6 months of implementation, with the efforts of investor, construction and supervision consulting contractors, the key items of the project have been completed i.e operator, transformer station, solar panels installation. On the morning of December 12, 2020, the 110 kV line, connecting Vi Thanh – Long My passing through Hoa An commune, Phung Hiep district, Long Binh commune and Vinh Tuong ward in Long My town, was officially connected to the electricity system of the plant, ready for the integration to the national electrical grid. The plant is expected to officially achieve COD by end of December, 2020, as committed.
This is the first solar power operation in the province, contributing to the efficient exploitation of solar radiation potential in Hau Giang and in line with the development strategy of renewable energy in Vietnam, as well as general planning for solar power in Hau Giang. After COD, the plant will produce 50,800 MWh per annum, achieve the annual revenue of about 80 billion dongs, contributing to the provincial budget, and create jobs for a number of local labor sources as well. In addition, while implementing the project, Halcom Vietnam commits to devote a lot of enthusiasm and resources to the project so that the project can be completed on schedule, thereby creating motivation for other investment projects into the province in the future.
